Back In Action is fully equipped with the latest electrotherapy equipment, and our fully equipped rehabilitation gymnasium is used extensively as part of nearly all of our treatments. In addition to this we have a separate room that contains an isokinetic dynamometer, which we use for assessment, rehabilitation and research within musculo-skeletal medicine including sports injuries. All of our therapists are actively involved in post-graduate training, ranging from Diploma courses through to PhD. Our experienced staff also provide post graduate training to GPs and other physiotherapists, as well as lecturing at university. Our appointments are normally 30 minutes although it may be the case that an initial assessment and some other rehabilitation sessions can last 60 minutes or more. Testimonials

Tom Heaton - England & Burnley FC Goal Keeper

Ian’s work on my shoulder has had a major impact on my recovery. His input allowed me to recover properly & fully whilst minimising the time of that recovery. His understanding of the shoulder is second to none.

Iona

I had a really great experience with Ian. After an 18 month injury he found the cause of my pain. I left being able to do an exercise/movement which I couldn’t previously do at the beginning of the session. I’m now excited to be working towards my strength and fitness before my injury.

I now know how to alleviate the pain and have a very clear plan of what work I needed to put in!

Patient feedback

"My experience was everything i needed, It has helped me very much thank you."

Eileen Doody

Eileen Doody MIFA CST MCSS has been practising complementary therapies since 1994 and was previously based in Cork in the South of Ireland. She qualified in Aromatherapy with the London School of Aromatherapy and in CranioSacral Therapy with the Upledger Institute. Eileen is also qualified in Reflexology, Reiki and Indian Head Massage. She is a member of the International Federation of Aromatherapists and the CranioSacral Society.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a light touch technique addressing restrictions in the craniosacral system, i.e. the membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Restrictions here may impact the central nervous system affecting our overall health and well being. CST assists the body to release deeply held tension and trauma helping to improve function so the body can operate at it's best. CranioSacral Therapy was developed in the 1970's by Dr. John Upledger, an Osteopathic Physician in the USA. As it is such a gentle form of treatment, it is suitable for all ages from newborns to elders.
